Fresh Snow in Scotland

September 28, 2010

Image from Daily Mail 28th Sept

Would you believe it but there was a proper fall of snow over the Scottish hills yesterday. Walkers had to wrap up warm and get their cosy boots on for a trek in the Highlands through the snow. Check out the full report from the Daily Mail

Maybe now is the time to get that early deal on the season pass for Cairngorm after all.

In the mean time, the Tignes glacier has opened for the winter skiing and boarding and the other resorts in Europe are beginning to get themselves ready. There have been plenty of improvements throughout the resorts with chairlifts being replaced or maintained and in the chalets the final work is being carried out before the snow and cold settles in.

Fly Globespan

December 17, 2009

The breaking news this morning is that Scotlands largest airline has had its flights grounded and has gone into receivership.

Many of us in Scotland are so sad to see Globespan go under as they have provided flights direct to the Alps and to the sun for us over the past few years so will be truly missed.

One does start to wonder though why governments across the world help out their national airline and the Scottish government has done nothing to help Globespan – did the Scottish government let us down again?

Anyway, I dont want to get into politics but these thoughts are sure to be going through many peoples heads this morning as they try to claim back their money from the CAA, travel agents and credit cards.

In the mean time please be assured that all Ski Europe Online clients are being offered alternative flights if Globespan has been booked.

Fingers crossed that British Airways gets the support that it needs and that no other airlines have their planes grounded next year.

We still have flights and catered chalets available to France from £279 per person departing on the 19th Dec and HALF PRICE chalets at New Year from £479 per person. These include Gatwick flights, transfers and chalet board accommodation.
