End of the Summer

Well it is officially the end of the summer as we have had the equinox and our sailing has finished for the summer. Our beloved Stargazer is now out of the water for the winter so it is definitely time to start thinking about ski holidays!

UK Snow Boosts Ski Holiday Sales

British skiers are inspired by snow storms and book ski holidays in the Alps

Following the unprecedented levels of snow fall in the UK this week, Ski Europe Online, the specialist European ski travel agency, has been inundated with calls from families and couples who have been enjoying the snow and then decided to book a ski holiday.

Comments Sammi Nisbet, Managing Director of Ski Europe Online: “The UK snow has been a life saver for the ski industry. Non-discounted sales for holidays during the Christmas week were at an all time industry low this year, so the blizzards that have swept the UK and the continent, and thus inspired bookings, have been a welcome relief. Year-on-year, this week’s bookings are up by over 150%.”

The whole of Europe is experiencing exceptional ski conditions this year and Ski Europe Online still has plenty of availability over the remainder of the season at over 350 chalets and hotel across 79 resorts throughout France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Andorra, Spain, Slovenia, Lapland and Scotland.

Here are just three examples of those still available:

Departing 20 February and reduced by £186 pp, a week’s stay at the Chalet Chamois Volant (sleeps 14) in Les Deux Alps, France, now costs just £559 per person (was £745). Situated just 230m from the ski lifts, the seven-bedroom 19th century stone farm building has been totally renovated for 2010, with new bedrooms, bathrooms, living room and dining room.

Also available is the eight-bedroom Chalet Aigle Royal (sleeps 16). Departing 27 February, a week’s stay now costs just £704 per person (was £939) – allowing a saving of £235 pp. Located in the French alpine village of Tignes, the chalet is just 50m from the nearest piste, and just a short walk from the very centre of Le Lac.

Alternatively, reduced by 50% a week’s stay, departing 6 March, at the five-bedroom Chalet Inoko (sleeps 12) in Val D’Isere now costs just £330 per person (was £659) – a saving of £329 pp. Val D’Isere (France), considered by some to be the World’s premier resort, offers some of the best skiing and boarding in the Alps along with vibrant après ski.

Prices are based on two adults sharing include flights (departing Gatwick), transfers and seven nights’ chalet board accommodation.
