Ski schools in Meribel (via Skiexpertsmeribel’s Blog)

October 25, 2010

I absolutely agree that it is so important to pre book ski lessons for children as lessons will hugely increase their enjoyment of their ski holiday if they are with friends all learning together.

Ski schools in Meribel Ski schools in Meribel give excellent instruction for kids, according to http://www.meribel-unplugged.co.uk/kmskisch.htm. Meribel's private instructors are also very experienced kids ski teachers. Remember, a ski class can also be lots of fun for the kids. However all these ski classes get fully booked in school holidays, so you MUST reserve your children's lessons well in advance! Good ski schools include ESF Ski School, Snow Systems, Magic Acad … Read More

Scottish Ski Show

Scottish Ski Show

Sammi and Kerry at the Scottish Ski Show

Ski Europe Online was at the Scottish Ski Show in Glasgow on Saturday. It was a total success as the venue was buzzing with visitors and there were plenty of really good suppliers selling everything from hats to snowboards and ski holidays.

We met lots of interesting people and have made a good few contacts for adding new properties to our website which is great as it will give you even more choice!

Thank you again to www.snowandrock.com for supplying us with the fleece gilets. We have been giving out Snow and Rock brochures to everyone so do just give us a call or email sales@skieuropeonline.co.uk so you don’t miss out on the best quality gear!

Glasgow is always a great venue for shows so we headed out to dinner afterwards and ended up finishing the day in style with dinner in D’Arcy’s then Mohito’s and Bloody Mary’s at the beautiful Rogano!

We are all looking forward to the snow dumping down now and heading out for the first ski of the season!

Ride the 3 Valleys this Summer

The Ride Of A Lifetime Over The World’s Largest Mountain Bike Course

Dated: Apr 15, 2010

Les Trois Vallées Mountain Bike Challenge: 3rd/4th July 2010

The French alpine resort of Les Trois Vallées is home to the world’s largest mountain bike course (with more than 370 miles of trails), and taking place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th July 2010 is the annual “Trois Vallées Mountain Bike Challenge”. Endorsed by the Fédération Française de Cyclisme, the competition is open to everyone and allows world class professionals and amateur mountain-bikers to attack the trails side by side – and all for FREE. The competition offers a variety of events, with various levels of difficulty; including a 70kms touring event of all three valleys – made slightly easier thanks to the uphill use of ski lifts!

The Blue Ribbon event of the competition is a timed descent of a 7,000 ft drop – from the top of the Saulire (2700m) down to Brides-les-Bains (600m). In 2009 the descent attracted over 500 entrants, with the winner descending through thick forest and narrow tracks in just 26 minutes.

With so many budget airlines now flying from regional UK airports to Geneva (just two hours from Les Trois Vallées) getting to the Alps has never been easier or better value. Ski Europe Online still has plenty of availability in self-catering apartments across all three valleys (taking in the resorts of Courchevel, Méribel, Les Menuires and Val Thorens). For example, in Val Thorens, a week’s stay, commencing 3 July, at Les Chalets du Soleil apartment costs from just £106 per person. Price is based on two adults and two children sharing on a self-catering basis.

Alternatively, a week’s stay in the resort of Les Menuires, commencing 3rd July, at the one-bedroom Les Asters apartment costs from just £111 per person. Price is based on two sharing on a self-catering basis. Travel not included. Bikes can be rented for £100 a week and a weeklong Multi-Activity card costs £34 pp (allows access to more than 20 activities offered in Les Menuires or Val Thorens – including tennis, fitness classes, aqua-aerobics, rollerblade and skate park, swimming-pool – as well as pedestrian and mountain bike use of the ski lifts).

Other activities available across Les Trois Vallées include fly fishing, white water rafting, rock climbing, canyoning, paraponting, archery and horse riding. There are also a wide range of shops, bars, night clubs and a number of Michelin star rated restaurants scattered throughout the valleys.
